The Veronica Vest has turned out to be one of my favorite designs to add style to a simple spring or summer outfit.

This Veronica Vest can be crocheted with cotton or linen or a blend of acrylic and cotton for summer months – but add some weight in the fall and winter stitching with a darker color and heavier yarn – perhaps add more length to bring on the cooler temps. This design is very versatile and easy to crochet – designed for beginners, but challenging enough for an advanced crocheter.

This pattern is what I call my ‘Flexible Crochet’ style, in that this pattern is NOT sized, but will fit YOU because it is crocheted to your measurements. You decide the width, length and the armhole size to make this design your own. A beginner will want to crochet this according to my directions, using the wearer’s measurements. All directions for taking your measurements are included.

Style suggestion: Wear over a simple top and a lightweight skirt for a dressy occasion, like church or eating out at a restaurant. Crochet a darker color to wear with a turtleneck knit in fall and winter to add a bit of ‘warm’ to your vest’s style. Enjoy!
