Description
It’s summertime, and tank tops are being pulled out to wear – so what do you wear over your tank?
A crocheted summer lace cotton top! The focus design element in this pattern is the drapey cowl neck. Designed to wear over a tank, it will give you that stylish, extra layer for a more modest look. Or, just tie your outfit together with this easy crochet top for a more polished look over a dark tank and pants or a skirt.
This top is so drapey and loose — I crocheted mine with a flat tape yarn, Borocco Estiva, 100% cotton, size 5 weight. You might also try Lion Brand Rewind which is poly/viscose size 5 weight or from HollyPKnits on Etsy – Rowan Yarn, all cotton, size 4 weight. Check out WEBS.com, a tape yarn called Tahki Yarns Skinny Jeans which is a cotton/nylon blend and worsted size 4 weight tape yarn.
Any of these tape yarns would work, although I might opt for the cotton ones, since you’ll most likely be wearing this in the summer. This could also be an easy beach coverup crocheted a bit longer and/or wider below the waist.
Here’s another idea — you might crochet it in a deeper color which would take you into fall with a long sleeve tee underneath!
Any way you design it, for the season you choose, this top will make a statement.
Happy Crocheting!
