Description
What’s better than a warm hat and cowl when the weather is chilly? Step into some retro fashion with a snood this winter. Snoods are so comfortable and completely cover your hair without mashing it down. I love this Pamela Snood for several reasons:
It was so easy to make
It was so fast to make
It covers your entire head without clinging to it
It makes a beautiful fashion statement when crocheted in the right color and yarn that flatters you.
Both Cowl and Snood are crocheted with large stitches that keep them from being too stiff. Also, I used a P/Q hook for the body of both the cowl and the snood, so they are loose and drapey.
The yarn was a Knitcrate ‘Chonk’ wool and cotton blend in the colorway Shirraz in the City — A brown/grey/bluish color depending on the lighting. So very soft and warm, but not hot or scratchy at all.
Of course, you can use any #6 super bulky yarn to crochet the Pamela Cowl and Snood.
I really like these as idea for gifts – the snood would be perfect for a person who has an adventurous fashion spirit, and is not afraid to make a statement.
The cowl would be great for men or women on your Christmas gift list. Everyone likes a nice cowl to wear under their winter coat, or around the house over a sweater after winter sets in.
I hope you enjoy making these designs! Happy crocheting!
Love to you all, and stay safe and warm!
