Celebrate spring with this new cotton sweater! Elbow sleeves and a simple but elegant stitch pattern make this the perfect sweater to start the new season!

I named this design Golden Cross because the color I chose was the color of gold (named Mustard by the yarn company) and the special stitch I used in a pattern throughout is the Cross Stitch. Golden Cross. It’s also Easter season, so that fits, too!

Is it easy to crochet? Please don’t worry — I have explained how to crochet it in this pattern, and it’s truly easy! The Cross Stitch will give your beautiful Golden Cross a unique look, but it is fast and fun to do. If you have never crocheted it, look forward to having some fun with your sweater designs!

As with all my designs, you can crochet this sweater to fit YOU! Using an initial measurement, you can crochet most of the pattern without counting stitches called for in the pattern. In fact, I don’t state numbers of stitches – you will need the number of stitches which best suits your body and your design. Use the number of stitches that you need to make your sweater fit you perfectly around the hips.

Are you petite? Are you a tall woman? As you crochet toward the top of the back and front fabrics, you decide how long the sweater should be for YOU!

Sleeves are also made to measure to fit your arms – comfortably and easily. Sleeves are crocheted on flat fabric, then the sides and sleeve seams are sewn together all at once. This is one of the easiest sweaters I have designed yet, which also has some special stitch rows to give the sweater plenty of interest.

I hope you like this design – I have enjoyed working with this size #4 cotton/nylon yarn. Soft as butter, and easy to crochet. Of course, you can actually use any yarn size and any hook to get the look you want.
