A New Creation from On The Hook!
Here’s why I designed this cardigan…
So, you know Friday is, in most offices, a ‘casual day’. This means a more relaxed outfit to slide into the weekend. Or, you might need a nice removable sweater to attend a committee meeting at PTA or church. You want to look casual, but stylish and put together.
Let’s face it, people take you more seriously if you are dressed in an organized, neat, up to date way. I’m not advocating dressing for others, but showing how we feel about them includes how we present ourselves. We show good manners by dressing for the occasion, so others will take us seriously.
A t-shirt just doesn’t cut it – so, wear your Friday Cardi over it!
A simple black tee under this sweater will show that you are put together, but still very casual. This is what I mean by dressing for the occasion.
At the office, you wouldn’t wear a tank top alone, but if you have your Friday Cardi on over it, it looks pretty cool, and you are dressed for the occasion. With your Friday Cardi, you can create a versatile wardrobe addition that will come in handy for many occasions. You can choose wool, cotton, acrylic or any blend of yarn.
I’ve made it from a light, unusual color in worsted (chartreuse) and edged it in black. Black is a universal color that goes right along with practically anything you have on. The sleeves are crocheted onto the body of the cardi, contrasting cuffs and trim around the cardi. Button is optional and not shown on in the photos.
Suggestions for Pairing with your favorite closet styles..
Pair your new Friday Cardi with a black skirt, some suede booties and a black turtleneck knit top, and you are ready for a dressier occasion. Or, pair it with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans, some booties, and a black tee. Or a red tee. The possibilities are endless with a black edging, so I suggest doing that for your first go round with this pattern. I hope you like my newest creation!
Love to you all, and Happy Crocheting!
