Description
Enter winter – cold and rainy – so I decided to design a pullover with a shadow-y feel but with a pop of color to brighten the sweater. This one is cozy, made with City Tweed by KnitPIcks in the colorway Obsidian.
Very soft yarn, and a DK weight — City Shadows, though crocheted, which many times is a bit heavy due to it’s use of more yarn to cover the same area, will be light enough to wear against the skin without being scratchy. A combination of wool and alpaca and tweed – makes the yarn interesting.
This sweater is drapey but closely crocheted, so it’s warm to wear but lightweight. Also, the sleeves are reminiscent of a beautiful granny cardigan I crocheted as a child. In this design, I tried to use the stitch in a subtle form to give the sleeves a cool look. I mirrored this design element at the hem of the sweater with a few rows of triads as well. Contrasting color brings the sweater together for a class look.
Happy crocheting!
