Charlotte’s Shawl

$4.49

Take time to make yourself a beautiful shawl for fall…The colors in this one are totally unexpected, but each stands alone in detail – the blue speckled hand dyed base of the shawl and the deep rust in a delicate contrast.

Most of the detail in blue is near the neck and across the shoulders. The bottom of the base of Charlotte’s Shawl hints at the lace stitch above and then several rows of basic stitches allow the delicate lace trim to stand on its own. This design is very easy to crochet – there are no stitch counts to enslave your creativity.

Take time to make yourself a beautiful shawl for fall…The colors in this one are totally unexpected, but each stands alone in detail – the blue speckled hand dyed base of the shawl and the deep rust in a delicate contrast.

Directions are written, as always, in conversational style to help you create a gorgeous shawl the first time around. Yours will look exactly like mine if you follow the directions as written. You can veer off the beaten path with your own row patterns and your choice of yarn and hook.

I chose a fingering weight yarn, using 1 1/2 hanks of the main color and about half of one hank of the lace edging. Each hank was 100 grams or 400 yards. Blocked: 50″ X 30″

My hooks of choice were K and L to keep my Charlotte’s Shawl drapey and soft.

I usually explain how I name my designs. This shawl – Charlotte’s Shawl – is named for Saint Charlotte, the patron saint of crocheters! Who knew?
Happy Crocheting!
Jeanne
