One of the pleasures of fall and winter is to slip on your softest clothes, cozy up in the living room — crocheting a pretty blanket or sweater — and warming your feet in front of a toasty fire in the fireplace.

If one of those pleasures is one of yours, I designed this CardiVest for you!

This CardiVest is crocheted with one of the softest acrylics on the planet (in my opinion) – a Caron Latte Cake. The color way is Pretty Plum and I imagine myself making another in one of the many colorways available in this wonderful yarn. Composition is Acrylic and Nylon – soft to the touch, and interesting to look at. This is a Bulky weight – a #5. My CardiVest is designed to be easy to crochet all in one piece, with only 2 seams. With that simple construction, this CardiVest can fit perfectly, because you are using your own measurements to create it!

CardiVest is an easy side to side construction sweater, which will create subtle vertical striping formed with a Latte Cake. You can color correct as you go (I don’t usually do that, and did not in this particular CardiVest – see photo). I just allowed the stripes to appear naturally, and made it easy on myself.

The CardiVest is not sized, but using your unique measurements, it will fit YOU. You will adjust as you go along – no stitch counts here – and make the cardi as long and wide as you need, and you will create your own ‘favorite cozy vest’ for that evening by the fire.
