Description
FOR ADVANCED BEGINNERS: Many of you have written to say you want a sleeveless top – a modest one – crocheted for summer. This one, you can wear under a jacket or light sweater, or alone with jeans for a super casual look when the weather turns hot.
I’ve designed one which has shaped armholes (shaped to your arms, of course) so that the openings are rounded and more fitted so they look more classic rather than something anyone could crochet.
I invite you to embark on a multitasking project – where you will crochet decreases on the armhole side of your fabric – then at the same time (you will see the abbreviations in old crochet patterns as ATST) you will be shaping the neckline of your Agnes Sweater. You can do it!
My patterns are not written in cryptic style, so you will be certain what I am asking you to do in each step. You should know how to create your basic crochet stitches – single crochet, double crochet, chain, half double crochet, etc. I also describe the procedure for the basic stitches, in case you need a review.
I crocheted this first version of Agnes in a DK weight yarn – one from Malabrigo, one of my favorite sources for yarns of all types. If you’re ready for that beautiful sleeveless top to wear boldly in the summer (or under a jacket for a less bold statement!), try this one!
